ORGANISATIONAL SERVICES
Psychometric Services
Intellumen Pty Ltd has substantial expertise in the psychological
assessment of occupational suitability, particularly in senior
or security-designated positions. We have ten psychologists with
both the forensic and therapeutic skills to undertake these assessments
and we understand the need for absolute confidentiality.
Using known and validated psychological tests, assessees are screened
for emotional stability, interpersonal skills, interest in learning,
agreeableness and conscientiousness. In addition, tests are administered
that provide information on potential psychological problems such
as anger, substance abuse, mood disorders and personality disorders.
As every organisation is addressing a different mix of issues and
pressures, Intellumen will compile a psychological testing battery
that suits the particular circumstances of your organisation.

Coaching and Mentoring Services
Complementing the other services that it offers, Intellumen draws
on the experience of its principals in government and the non-government
sector to offer a coaching and mentoring service.
Coaching is a process where one person helps another to:
• unlock their natural ability
• perform, learn and achieve
• become more aware of the factors that influence performance
• increase their sense of self-responsibility, particularly
for their performance
• self-coach, and
• remove internal barriers to achievement.

Mentoring, on the other hand, is a process where a more experienced
person assists a less experienced person to learn by:
• forming a non-specific developmental relationship
• being available as a role model for the purposes of emulation
• illustrating how an organisation / company / department
works and what it expects of an individual employee
• providing feedback and appraisal, and
• teaching the relevant skills that will enable the less experienced
person to perform effectively in an organisation.
Essentially a coach is focussed on assisting an individual to learn
how to achieve more while a mentor is available for the individual
to use as a resource. The two roles can function separately or overlap
but the skills that characterise each are clarity of purpose and
honesty, particularly on the part of the coach / mentor.
The principals of Intellumen have provided mentoring assistance
to many Springboard participants
over the past four years with some outstanding results, particularly
in terms of career improvement. Michael Brown has also worked with
other individuals in both coaching and mentoring roles and has achieved
consistently positive results. His particular areas of expertise
relate to senior government service and non-government organisations.
